Exotic cocktails usually use tropical fruits, have vibrant coloring and rely heavily on fruit garnishes. These style of drinks may also be known as Polynesian Cocktails. Many exotic cocktails will have a primary rum ingredient much like the tropical cocktails. Exotic cocktails may call for Orgeat (almond) Syrup, raisins, mango, papaya, lychee, oranges banana's and other interesting fruits, many of which may not be in season at the time of cocktail creation.

These cocktails are known to have a high alcohol content with hidden fruit flavors that can make them easy to consume.
